The new Healthy Snacks Initiative was announced today for schools. Grants of up to $10,000 will be paid to each Canadian school, university, or college that participates in the program by hosting a vending machine that contains both nutritious snacks and healthy cold drinks. Grants will be presented upon installation of each Max! Healthy Vending machine in the amount of $500 per machine, with a maximum total grant of $10,000 per school for 20 machine installations. http://www.prweb.com/releases/prweb2

Schools and hospitals in North America are taking proactive steps to help fight diseases like diabetes and obesity by installing "healthy vending machines" that only dispense healthy foods and drinks. In Tennessee, healthy vending was implemented at the Vanderbilt Medical Center. Nearby, MLK High School also joined the healthy vending movement.
